Do you want to upgrade to Vista? DO NOT!
I have used Vista for a little over a year. I hate it. It is slow and help the programs out there that state they are compatible with Vista just don't work no matter what I try. That gets to be expensive.
It takes for ever to start so I don't turn it off. When you do a restart, half the time it hangs up and you have to turn the machine off and then turn it back on. And when it reboots some of the drivers are often missing and you have to restart it again.
I have a very old Pentium III computer with Ubuntu (a free open source operating system) that out performs Vista on a Core 2 machine with 4 gigs of ram. And you would be surprised how easy it is to use.
Even the executives at Microsoft have been complaining about Vista.
So if you have a choice, don't buy Vista. Stay with XP until the next generation of operating systems comes out or Microsoft proves that Vista really is an upgrade to XP.
