Show Notes:
Solar garden lights are great as long as you don't expect too much from them. They will not light up your garden like a spot light wired into your house. But they can softly light up your garden.
Solar garden lights are cordless and therefore safer than wired lights – no cord in the garden to cut with your shovel. They do not produce the same amount of light as the wired lights. And solar garden lights are easy to install yourself.
Solar garden lights are getting better all the time. You should consider the following when buying solar garden lights.
1. Light strength – measured in mcd (millicandela) – the higher the number the brighter.
2. Cord or cordless – safety should be a consideration. If the solar lights are on a cord – they share a power supply – they will not be as bright as those that don't share a power supply.
3. Sturdy – they will be in the garden a long time and need to withstand the environmental changes that occur there.
4. Be realistic – never compare solar fixture with an electrical fixture.
Keep your eyes out for the new and improved solar garden lights.
