Show Notes:

Skype is a different way of having a home phone line. Rather than using a traditional  "land line"  or cell phone,  Skype is a VOIP(voice over internet protocol). It means your computer acts as your phone  delivery system.  You can still use a regular telephone,  instead of wires on a telephone pole, your phone service comes through your computer.

We've mentioned Skype before as a way of minimizing costs. Calling computer to computer is free(at the time of this podcast). But you can also call landlines by using Skype. A variety of new plans have been designed and can be cost effective depending on your long distance calls.

Take some time to check out what's available. It may mean you can use your hard earned dollars on something else.

Skypes new plans:
$3.00 per month – unlimited calls in US and Canada
$5.95 per month – unlimited calls in US, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Canada
$9.95 per month – unlimited calls to land line phones in 34 countries.  These include most of Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, China, Hong Kong and Singapore but not cell phones in other countries.
