Show Notes:
iPass is like the toll booth pass that are used on so many highways today. It's a pass to the hot spots around the world.
Have you ever gone to a store with a hot spot and found that you needed to sign up and pay for an account to access it? Well iPass is the way around that problem. It has partnered with most of the hot spot producers and with one account you can assess all of them. That's 95,000 hotspots in 86 countries.
Until recently this was only available to corporations. But now with iPassConnect Mobility Service individuals can set up accounts.
There are tiered accounts for both global and North America. For $29.95/month you get unlimited use of partners' hotspots, hotel Ethernet networks and dial up in North America.
Another aggregator is Boingo. It has 20,000 hotspots in North America for $21.95/month. But it does not cover dial-up or Ethernet in hotels.
iPass offers for $40.00/month in addition to the base price access to the 3G (EV-DO) network of Sprint in U.S. only. You are limited to 5gig data transfer per month.
