Exercising in the water can be an excellent way to exercise – build muscle strength and flexibility with minimal stress on joints and muscles.
Do the exercises in waist to chest deep water. Warm water helps to relieve pain, reduce spasm, swelling and relax back muscles. The natural resistance of the water plus pulling or pushing your body through the water can strengthen muscles. And remember water exercise can increase flexibility, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness.
Always consult your health care provider before starting any water exercise program.
