 Scarless Abdominal Surgery

This is not unusual until you realize we are talking about abdominal surgery.  Today there is open surgery (old fashion surgery), Scope surgery, Robotic surgery and now Scarless Abdominal Surgery.  

So how does this work?  The surgeon uses a scope that goes down your throat, through you stomach into the abdominal cavity.  A small camera is passed through the navel.  And then they do what ever type of abdominal surgery is required.  And recovery is much shorter than usual surgery and with less pain..

If this is so good what is the hold up?  First surgeons must be trained.  Then surgical nurses need to be trained.  Finally insurance companies need to cover the surgery at a reasonable amount for both the surgeon and facility.  New procedures take time to be accepted especially by insurance companies.
