It seems that there are some medical myths that have no basis in science
1. We use 10% of our brain
MRI and other studies show no dormant areas of the brain
2. You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
No medical evidence that we need this much water every day
3. Fingernails and hair grow after death
Skin may shrink and give the illusion of growth
4. Shaved hair grows back faster, coarser and darker
1928 and more recent studies prove this is not true
5. Reading in dim light ruins your eyesight
Causes eye strain but no evidence causes permanent damage
6. Eating turkey makes you drowsy
Eating too much and/or alcohol can make you sleepy
7. Mobile phones are dangerous in hospitals
No know deaths related to this
Case of less-serious interference – no proof in studies
