Show Notes:
You should treat your high blood pressure to prevent such things as stroke, heart attack, heart failure and kidney disease. Now two studies indicate that you should treat your high blood pressure to reduce the risk of dementia including Alzheimer.
The first study followed 1,300 men since 1960. Those who are on medication for high blood pressure for more than 12 years were 60-65% less likely to develop dementia including Alzheimer than those who never treated their high blood pressure.
The second study followed 5,100 adults age 65 and older. Those who were on medication for their hypertension were 1/3rd less likely to develop Alzheimer's over the next three years.
An additional reason to treat your high blood pressure.

Comments on Baby Boomer Health – High Blood Pressure and Dementia
With what you said about controlling blood pressure and its potential impact on dementia and worse, I would hope that you or someone would push the control of blood pressure more.
Please note that I had never heard of the relationship between blood pressure and potential mind problems. You or the media needs to yell out this info a little louder.
Keep up the good work!
