Show Notes:

For over 20 years is has become clear that depression after a heart attack is dangerous, raising the risk of a second heart attack and death.

Depression makes some chronic illnesses worse:  diabetes, arthritis, back problems, asthma and others.

If you have a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or more, you are considered obese.  You have a risk of 18.3% to 22% of having a mood disorder:  major depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder and agoraphobia.   Why is still not known.

Interesting article..I am not sure why these searches and comments are submitted…I think depression is obvious after a serious illness…It is scarry to go thru a major event like a heart attack etc. THough it is not a sure thing…eating healthy, exercising and finding joy in life are great ways to stave off many illnesses…and staying away from unhealthy food keeps the mood protected..Just thought I would put in my two cents…carol stanley author For Kids 59.99 and Over
