For over 20 years is has become clear that depression after a heart attack is dangerous, raising the risk of a second heart attack and death.
Depression makes some chronic illnesses worse: diabetes, arthritis, back problems, asthma and others.
If you have a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or more, you are considered obese. You have a risk of 18.3% to 22% of having a mood disorder: major depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder and agoraphobia. Why is still not known.

Interesting article..I am not sure why these searches and comments are submitted…I think depression is obvious after a serious illness…It is scarry to go thru a major event like a heart attack etc. THough it is not a sure thing…eating healthy, exercising and finding joy in life are great ways to stave off many illnesses…and staying away from unhealthy food keeps the mood protected..Just thought I would put in my two cents…carol stanley author For Kids 59.99 and Over
