Baby Boomer Finance – Frequent-Flier Credit Cards
![]()
Welcome to this weeks edition of Baby Boomer Finance – Frequent-Flier Credit Cards
Show Notes:
The airlines are reducing flights all the time. Using your frequent flyer miles on tickets now have additional fees. Unless you are elite class you may have few if any benefits anymore.
Between the new and increased fees plus your annual fee, you need to decide if your frequent flyer credit card is worth keeping. You need to look at this and decide if you should just change to a regular credit card, a cash back card, hotel points card or a generic points card. Think about your travel plans for the next year. Think about the fees for using your miles and the fees for the card. Can you justify the expense? If not consider using a regular card.
Remember the card fees include interest on the balance you leave plus the annual fees if any. Could you find another card with lower fees? Would the savings be worth it?
