This is your host, Denise Boomer and Dr. Bee Boomer, welcoming you to this weeks edition of the Baby Boomer Family on PodcastForBoomers.com.

This week we are talking about Sports and MRSA.

You've read about MRSA infections among the NFL players. Players missing weeks of playing or entire seasons. But the important thing to remember is that MRSA is not limited to the NFL. Most sports because of the skin to skin contact, cuts, warm moist conditions in the locker rooms can lead to MRSA infections. It is a common bacteria in the community.

So if you or a family member play a contact sport be sure to treat all cuts, wash you hands before treating the cut or abrasion, don't share towels or drinks with others, and be sure to shower before entering the whirlpool if you have one.

Be careful and enjoy the sport.

Thanks for listening.
Remember your comments are always welcome.

Until the next time, this is your host Dr. Bee Boomer and Denise Boomer saying good bye!
