Americans are growing older.  Not a real surprise.  But today about 13% of us are over age 65.  In 2030 more than 20% will be over 65.  And in 2050 the number will increase to 89 million – twice as many as today.

Centenarians will double by 2025 to 175,000 – (80,000 today).

By 2035 people 85 years old and older will double to 11.5 million up from 5 million today.

The prediction is that the working age population will proportionally increase primarily due to immigrants.

That is quite a shift in ages.  We will have to wait and see if this comes true.
