This is your host, Denise Boomer and Dr. Bee Boomer, welcoming you to this weeks edition of the Baby Boomer Family on PodcastForBoomers.com.
This week we are talking about Job Hunting.
Job hunting can be frustrating at any time but in today's economy it can really be frustrating. Today you will probably not hear that you didn't get the job. You will probably not find out why you were passed over. Instead of getting more and more frustrated and beginning to feel there is something wrong with you, you should think about this:
1. Job hunting is unfair. The best person is not always picked. Remember "it's not what you know but who you know" is relevant to all job hunts.
2. Decisions makers are not always right. Screeners you encounter vary from knowing the posted job and its responsibilities to not knowing the job at all. And the decision makers don't always use the best decision making process to find the best candidate. Just remember to research, network and be yourself.
3. You may not fit the real culture. Most companies want to keep things the same. Change is difficult and scary. So experienced mediocrity will overcome talent.
Seek out companies that remain steady during crisis and demonstrate the ideals you seek. Remember you may not get the job because you scare them or don't fit. It's not you it's the company.
Thanks for listening.
Remember your comments are always welcome.

Until the next time, this is your host Dr. Bee Boomer and Denise Boomer saying good bye!
