This week we are talking about Grape Juice.

We have all learned about the benefits of a glass of red wine every day. But what if you don't like red wine? Would grape juice work as well?

Red wine has resveratrol and flavonoids. They are also found in grape juice made from red and dark purple Concord grapes. Recent studies have shown grape juice can reduce the risk of blood clots and prevent LDL (bad cholesterol) from sticking to coronary arteries. In one study two servings of grape juice a day in two weeks improved blood flow in patients with coronary artery disease. Another study showed a lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol levels with daily consumption of grape juice.

Be sure to drink Concord grape juice without artificial ingredients and added sugar.

This is great news…and as always we just have TO DO it!

However I love getting my servings in good red wine..A great way to put a cap on the day…at about 5PM…I think it is as much social as drinking…Just think if everyone followed all these wonderful health suggestions…Less doctor visits, medicine, drugs, days off work..A good thought.

I agree Carol, the social aspect is a real important part of a good glass of wine. I'm always amazed at how simple steps can improve our health. Grape juice or a glass of red wine is a step we all can take.
