Show Notes:

Foods can have up to .49 grams of trans fats and be labeled zero transfats.  That is .49 grams of trans fats per serving as listed on the container.  How many of there servings do you eat at one time?

Trans fats are bad for you because they lower your HDL (good cholesterol) and increase your LDL (bad cholesterol).  There is no safe amount of trans fats in your diet.  But try to keep it under 1% of your total daily calories.

What to look for:
If the list of ingredients mentions hydrogenated oil, partially hydrogenated oil, or shortening, it has trans fats.

If the list of ingredients mentions palm oil, palm kernel oil and coconut oil look at the amount of saturated fats in a serving.  Keep below 7% of total calories.

Be careful of the serving sizes and how much you eat at a serving.
