Show Notes:

Can too much cola lead to kidney disease?

Too much cola can lead to increased risk for diabetes and obesity.  We know that.  But can too much cola lead to kidney disease?

Colas contain a high level of phosphoric acid which is linked to kidney stones and other renal problems.  The National Institutes of Health to a closer look at this association.   They found that drinking two or more colas per day was linked to a twofold risk of chronic kidney disease.

But drinking two or more non-cola carbonated drinks a day did not increase the risk.

So reduce or stop your consumption of carbonated cola drinks for your kidney's sake.
