Show Notes:

Recently an article in the New York Times talked about how to be smarter by raising your IQ score.

Research has indicated that there are some things you can do to improve your IQ.

  •     Learn new things and believe you can – stretch your brain
  •     A little nervousness/stress is good but a lot is very bad for your performance and learning.
  •     Drink a little tea through out the day because a small amount of caffeine through out the day is good. Spacing gives a constant level of stimulation, not just the morning jolt of a cup of coffee.
  •     Practice the types of questions to be asked on the IQ test
  •     Exercise regularly.  Unknown at this time whether it's more oxygen going to the brain or some other factor.

Ever wondered whether those short naps help? Well, it's been shown sleep improves memory. Improvement was seen in as little as 6 minutes of sleep.

People over 65 who walk 5.5 miles per week at a moderate pace were 27% less likely than sedentary people to get dementia.
