Baby Boomer Technology – L.E.D.'s in Your Home
![]()
Welcome to this weeks edition of Baby Boomer Technology – L.E.D.'s in Your Home?
Show Notes:
Compact florescent bulbs are replacing old fashioned incandescent bulbs in many homes. But today many business buildings are starting to use L.E.D. lights instead of florescent. The cost is higher but the energy savings can recoup the cost in 1-2 years. And the bulbs will last for 20 years.
Are we ready to use them in our homes? Probably not as the cost is too high. For example a single incandescent bulb cost less than a $1.00. A L.E.D. bulb for your home cost $107. But the prices are coming down. The L.E.D. bulb uses only 15% of the energy of a comparable florescent bulb and will last for 20 years.
