Show Notes:
"Cloud Computing" is using the online software instead of loading the software on your computer. This has lead to a new category of computers called "net-tops". These are very small very energy efficient Linux based portable computers about the size of a book costing in the range of $300. Used mostly for email and web surfing. But with programs such as Google Docs, they become a fully functional computer.
These new computers are out of Taiwan – Asus and Everex. Asus has already sold out of their entire production and Everex is selling fast.
The big companies see this as a threat to their bottom line. They also feel there is no margin to producing these machines. So they are afraid of losing market share and profits to these cloud computers.
It will be interesting to watch the computer market.
